Physical Therapy - Pediatric

Pediatric physical therapists are specifically trained to improve the lives and daily function of children who suffer from a wide range of injuries and congenital conditions.  Pediatric patients range from newborn babies to young adults.

Any childhood disorder that involves movement dysfunction can be assisted by physical therapy. Sometimes children need assistance with coordination and balance. Orthopedic conditions commonly treated include scoliosis, back pain, sports injuries, fractures, and surgeries.

Pediatric physical therapists are trained in one-on-one care of children. They engage the child to prepare their body for the life they are meant to have. Pediatric physical therapy provides an environment that is both engaging and fun.

At Healing Arts Center, our pediatric physical therapist will evaluate and provide treatment for delays in motor skills by developing the strength and range of motion that children need to participate with their peers.  Flexibility, strength, posture, gait, and sensory dysfunction can also be assessed and treated.

Pediatric physical therapy can assist with sports injuries, “clumsiness”, frequent falling, not walking, recurrent injury, broken bones, autism, cerebral palsy, and Down Syndrome among many other things.
